The Virgin Mary has disappeared from Bronson Park.

A year after a church-sponsored Nativity scene that adorned the downtown Kalamazoo park was torched, the creche that replaced it was the subject of a police investigation Thursday.

The figure of Mary -- part of the $22,000, 1-year-old Nativity scene -- was reported missing to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety late Wednesday.
